Effective September 2026. VideoFrameExtractor is a free tool. This policy explains exactly what does and doesn't happen to your data.
When you choose a video file, it is loaded directly into your browser's built-in video player and decoded locally. There is no upload step — this site has no server-side video processing, no video storage, and no way to receive a copy of your video even if it wanted to. Every frame you grab is drawn on an in-browser canvas and exported straight to a file on your device; the resulting still images are never transmitted anywhere first.
Loading this page causes your browser to make a small number of standard network requests that any website makes: the HTML/CSS/JavaScript files themselves, and one third-party resource — the JSZip JavaScript library, loaded from public CDN infrastructure (cdnjs), used only when you build a batch ZIP download. Like any web request, this necessarily exposes your IP address and browser information to that infrastructure provider as a normal part of how the internet works — but it is a code download only, and at no point does your video, or any frame extracted from it, get sent as part of that request or anywhere else.
This site uses standard, anonymous Google Analytics (page views, referrer, country, browser type) and Microsoft Clarity (anonymized heatmaps and session recordings of on-page interactions, used to spot broken UI, not to identify you) to understand overall usage. This site also shows ads served by Adsterra, a third-party ad network, which may set its own cookies or use similar technology to serve relevant ads — we don't control what Adsterra does with that beyond serving ads on this site; see Adsterra's own privacy policy for details. We don't add any other ad pixels or cross-site tracking ourselves.
There are no accounts or sign-up to use the free tool. If you buy the optional Pro upgrade, Stripe (our payment processor) collects your email and payment details to process the purchase — we never see or store your card number. We store your email and purchase record so you can restore Pro on another device later (via a 6-digit code sent to that email, no password). That's the only personal data this site ever holds, and it's never sold or shared beyond what's needed to process your purchase.
